PartyPass — Event Discovery & Ticketing Mobile Experience
Client Overview
PartyPass is an event discovery platform designed to help users discover activities, events, and experiences through a mobile-first experience.
The platform brings event discovery, personalized recommendations, organizer updates, event details, and ticket-related interactions into one connected product journey.
The Challenge
Finding something meaningful to do can require users to search across multiple sources such as social media, event websites, organizer pages, and ticketing platforms.
This creates a fragmented experience in which discovering an event, checking its details, accessing tickets, and staying informed may happen across several different platforms.
PartyPass needed to simplify this journey and provide users with a single mobile experience where event discovery and participation could happen more naturally.
The challenge was not simply to display events. The product needed to make large amounts of event information easy to explore while maintaining relevance, usability, and a clear path from discovery to attendance.
Project Goals
The core goals of the product were to:
Simplify local and global event discovery.
Help users find relevant experiences based on their interests.
Make venue, schedule, and ticket information easy to access.
Create a more connected event experience.
Allow users to keep ticket information in one place.
Support paperless mobile event entry.
Keep users engaged through organizer updates and notifications.
Create a product experience capable of serving a broad geographic audience.
Strategy & Approach
Shafqatism approached the experience around the complete user journey rather than designing disconnected functionality.
Product Journey
Discover → Explore → Decide → Access → Attend → Re-engage
Discovery Experience
The first priority was making it easier for users to understand what was happening around them.
Event discovery needed to support both nearby activities and broader event exploration without overwhelming users with unnecessary complexity.
Personalized Experience
Instead of presenting every user with the same catalogue, the product experience supports personalized recommendations based on interests.
This helps move the platform from simple event listing toward relevant event discovery.
Event Information Architecture
Event information needed to be presented in a clear hierarchy.
Users should be able to understand important information such as the event, venue, schedule, and available tickets without moving through unnecessary steps.
Ticket Journey
Ticket information was incorporated into the mobile experience so users could move from discovering an event toward participating in it without depending on disconnected systems.
The public application experience includes ticket storage and paperless mobile check-in functionality.
Engagement & Retention
Notifications and organizer-related updates help extend the relationship beyond a single event search.
Users can stay informed about new events and relevant activities, creating opportunities for repeated engagement.
Actual Work
Event Discovery
Helping users explore relevant activities and events locally and globally.
Personalized Recommendations
Providing event suggestions aligned with user interests.
Search & Exploration
Enabling users to search large volumes of event information.

Organizer Updates
Keeping users informed about new events from organizers they are interested in.
Social Discovery
Supporting discovery through information about where friends are going.
Ticket Access
Giving users access to ticket information in one location.
Mobile Ticket Storage
Reducing dependence on separate emails, PDFs, or paper-based ticket management.
Paperless Check-In
Supporting event entry directly from the user's mobile device.
Notifications
Keeping users connected with relevant events and organizers after the initial discovery experience.
Execution
The execution focused on creating a coherent mobile product rather than treating each function as an independent feature.
Connected User Flow
Event Discovery → Event Details → Ticket Access → Attendance → Continued Engagement
This helped create an experience where users could move from asking “What is happening?” to actually participating in an event without unnecessary friction.
Results & Product Impact
PartyPass progressed into a publicly available mobile product.
The current Google Play listing shows more than 1,000 downloads and states that the platform provides event discovery across more than 31,000 cities worldwide.
Key Product Outcomes
The resulting product brings together:
Event discovery
Personalized recommendations
Real-time event information
Organizer notifications
Social event discovery
Ticket information
Mobile ticket storage
Paperless event check-in
All of these capabilities are brought together into one connected mobile experience.
Foundation for Future Growth
PartyPass now has a product foundation that can continue evolving as its event catalogue, users, and product functionality grow.
Verified quantitative business KPIs such as conversion improvements, engagement growth, ticket volume, or revenue impact should only be added once supplied by the client or internal project records.
